Hi, I’m Greg Franco, I work as a freelance map illustrator creating custom illustrated maps for tourism and travel-related projects..
I work with destinations, publishers, and creative teams to create custom maps that help bring places to life and inspire visitors to explore them.
Each project is a collaboration. I take the time to understand the identity of a place, its key landmarks, and how visitors will experience it. Whether the goal is to guide, inform, or inspire, I design maps that are visually engaging and tailored to their context.

WHO I WORK WITH
I collaborate with tourism boards, travel brands, and publishers, often working alongside art directors and creative teams to bring projects to life.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, adapting my style to each context while maintaining a strong focus on clarity, storytelling, and visual identity.
I also create a wider range of illustrated and practical maps, as well as editorial illustrations, under the name Le Cartographiste, where I work on projects for books, magazines, and cultural institutions.
TYPES OF MAPS I CREATE
I create custom illustrated maps in a range of formats, from city and regional maps to more thematic pieces focused on food, activities, or specific experiences. My work also includes travel itinerary maps, site plans for hotels and resorts and editorial maps for publications, each designed to capture the identity of a place.
These maps are used across a wide range of travel and tourism projects, including visitor guides, brochures, destination campaigns, websites, and on-site materials. They help visitors navigate a place, highlight key points of interest, and bring together information in a way that is both engaging and easy to explore.

GETTING STARTED
Interested in working together? The process usually begins with a short brief: the purpose of the map, how it will be used, and who it’s for.
From there, we’ll define the scope and elements to illustrate and I’ll take care of the rest, from early concepts to final delivery, with regular check-ins and opportunities for feedback along the way.
I deliver fully vector-based digital files, ready for print or screen use. Timelines vary by project, but I always provide a clear estimate before we begin.
